Save Your Mascara Wands to Aid Wild Animals

Winnipeg wildlife rescue says mascara wands work like magic on ...

Most women use mascara daily and go through dozens of mascara tubes a year! Instead of tossing out the used wands, consider sending them to  Wands for Wildlife. This wonderful nonprofit uses old mascara wands to remove fly eggs and larva from the fur and feathers of wild animals. They also used the wands for many other purposes. Mascara wands work great because the bristles are close together to get in the fur and are gentle enough for all animals.

Wands for Wildlife can accept wands anytime of the year. Whether you can send 3 or 300 every wand is appreciated. So, save your wands and send them off help aid wild animals!

Before mailing in mascara wands be sure to clean them thoroughly. Clean with warm soapy water to remove residual mascara and dry completely before packaging. For cushioning, you can use new trash bags or a towel which can be repurposed.
